This Bay Area artist gives antique tools a new life, sculpting wood into harmonious shapes with colors and finishes that transform these utilitarian implements into works of art. Under Edwards’ hand, hammers, saws, axes and hoes become sculptures that enhance the original shape and purpose of the tool, causing us to look at these everyday objects with new eyes. Edwards has been on an upward trajectory as an artist with work that has been shown at San Francisco’s de Young Museum, the Fuller Craft Museum and the San Jose Museum of Art.
